How Many Knee Replacements Successful First Time? How Many People Have Had Four Knee Replacement Same Knee?

A lot of first knee replacements are successful. Do research on the surgeon. Get a second opinion. Follow the surgeon’s instructions EXACTLY. There are many types of
knee prosthetics that can be used. Ask the surgeon which
one he usually uses and research it on line. Good luck

Total Knee Replacement Performed 5 Years Ago. Cement Had Come Undo Have To Have Another Tkr. I Need Advice.?

Total Knee Replacement performed 5 years ago. Cement had come undo have to have another TKR. I need advice.?
In my 40’s, after 4 surgeries and lot’s of knee pain my DR (after many DR opinions) a Total Knee Replacement was performed nearly 5 years ago. Last year I began experiencing bad pain in same knee. DR took xray and said the cement that held the knee replacement together was gone, it had dislodged. Occasionally with people in my age group this apparently can happen. It is taken 100’s of phone calls (I have excellent coverage but insurance companies suck). This is through State Farm because I was hit head on (their fault) that the DR said caused the deteriation of the knee. I even have an Attorney. My knee hurts so bad I can barely walk and can not work. Any suggestions? I am really upset, in a terrible mood, and getting depressed although they put me on anti-depressants (joke) and my husband won’t let me take pain pills because he says I can just tolerate it and he won’t live it.

I Am Looking For Other 50-55 Year Old Homemakers Who Have Had Knee Replacement Surgery. What’s It Really Like?

Women recovering in the home is like a husband recovering at his work. I’d like to know when I can get backto my”CHORES”, making dinner, doing laundry and such. How can I just lay there and watch my home go to ruin? If anyone has had this dilema, please advise!

Should I Have A Knee Replacement? See Details.?

I was in a bad car accident when I was 13. I have had numerous operations to repair damage, one of which was done incorrectly and has given me pain for the last 17 years. I have been on narcotics on and off for 17 years ( I suffer from migranes as well from an anestesia reaction) My doctor (whom I do trust, I’ve been seeing him for about 12 years) reccomends a full knee replacement, but I’m afraid to go through with it. Had I done it when they first reccomended it I’d be on my 3rd replacement. now they have knee replacements designed for women, and they last 15-20 years on average. How do I get over this fear of surgery? I really would like to be nearly pain free for some of my adult life, but I recently had my Gall Bladder removed and had to be sedated before I was brought into the surgery center, I was having massive panic attacks. I’ve even seen a psychiatrist. Any suggestions? Is the replacement surgery and recovery a good or bad experience?

I Am Having A Total Knee Replacement On Tuesday. Does Anyone Have Any Tips For Recovery Or Words Of Advice?

My dad had both of his done. After you wake up they will put your leg on a machine that works the knee up and down. You will still be laying down. They will ask you to walk with in 3 days or less after every thing is going along well. I think it’s a good thing. Your knee will be stronger in the near future. You should be glad about having it done. I know there is some fear in surgery period. You’ll be up and about in no time. Listen to what the doctor tells you to do. Sadly I may have to have the same thing done someday, but I am glad that the doctors are good at what they do.
