How Long Does It Take To “fully” Recover From Total Knee Replacement Surgery?

From what I’ve observed it varies with each individual and other factors such as their weight, how active they were before surgery, if only one knee’s done at a time or it’s a bilateral (both knees at same time) surgery, and lastly but most important how determined you are to keep up with the physical therapy even on your own when you’ve finished your prescribed physical therapy.
Personally I had the bilateral knee replacement, am overweight, and only moderately active, so it took about 1 year for my complete recovery. The most encouraging thing to remember is that the pain one experiences after the surgery and pushing onward in your physical therapy is only temporary and will end, unlike the pain before the surgery.
Best wishes to you, or who ever you’re inquiring for.

How Much Walking Will I Be Able To Do Once I Am Recoverd From My Knee Replacement?

it will take time to heel my love, what you have to remember is they have just put a new one in,
so it will take time before you can put full weight on it, you should
have physiotherapy on it afterwards . all i can say is do not rush these things. every thing takes time to heel.
just think they have had to cut open your muscles nerves in that area
and they have to heal 1st.
you will also have to have your bed downstairs because you will not be able to go up and down them. not after that op.
hope all goes well, will keep fingers x for you.

Will I Be Able To Go Hill Walking After I Have Recovered From My Knee Replacement Say Eight To Ten Miles ?

Not any time in the near future. You will be inpatient in the hospital for several days. Then you will go to rehab or have home health coming to your house. Then you will progress to outpatient rehab, probably for several weeks. It will take quite a while for you to return to your normal activities……….I would estimate 3 to 6 months.

Information From Someone That Has Had Total Knee Replacement On Both Knees?

I have had knee replacement on one knee and need it on the other knee. I am having problems with the knee that did not have the replacement. It seems weak and when I first get up from sitting down the knee doesn’t want to go. I have to hold on to something and take baby steps for a minute or two and then I can walk. It wasn’t that bad till I had the knee replacement on the other knee. I would like to hear someone that had knees operated to see if they had this problem. Also; I would like to know how long the knee replacement lasts before you have to have the same knee replaced again. Thank you

How Long Does It Take To Recover From An Oxford Partial Knee Replacement?

Recovery from any surgery is a personal experience. I’m sorry but there’s just not a magical calendar available. Your overall health, mental disposition and recovery program all plays vital keys in your recovery process.
Good luck!

How Much Settlement Will I Get From Works Comp For Total Knee Replacement On Both Knees?

Total settlement depends on the State, but generally is a combination of Permanent Disability plus value of Future Care.
Perm Disability value for a bilateral knee replacement is calculated differently in each State.
Future Care in your case can be pretty significant. Theoretically, total joints only last about 10-15 years. If it originally cost about $50,000 for the first two new knees, then you would need to take that into consideration when determining the value of your future care.
Combine the two, and that’s your total settlement (assuming that your State does allow future medical to be settled).
