- Yes, the physiotherapy exercises are enough and will work fine. It will take some time for you to heal.
I hate to put a damper on you, but my own Husband had both knees replaced in 2005 due to an auto accident. He was told he would Never be able again to get on his knees in any form or fashion. To date he can bend, but he still cannot tolerate ANY pressure on his knees. Just be Thankful that you didn’t have to have both elbows replaced as well. My Husband had to have this done also and still is in future need of having his left shoulder replaced.
I am actually quite amazed myself with your even being on the internet at your age! You must be taking really good care of yourself. Keep up the great work and do your exercises. My Husband did NOT stay with his exercises. This may be the result of his not still not being able to put any pressure on his knees.

I answered this question earlier, so I am not sure if I didn’t give you what you were looking for or if you didn’t get it, but this is what I said…
Get your knee replaced again. I am sure that you knew you would have to have more than one since you are only in your 40’s. I have had 13 knee surgeries, so I know the kind of pain and discomfort you are in. You have done all the right things and taken all the right steps…you are very proactive and that is the most important thing. Don’t listen to your husband about the pain pills. If you need them to improve the quality of your life, you should take them. He is not in pain. I would tell him to shove it if I were you. If it hurts so bad that you cannot work and have trouble walking, you deserve to have every opportunity to ease that pain. Good luck to you. - Total Knee Replacement Performed 5 Years Ago. Just be prepared to have more knee surgeries. This is the thing with TKRs-they are more prone to complications than total hips. My opinion is you underwent TKR very early at 40. Lots of luck to you. - Total Knee Replacement At I.u Hopsital?
The opps manager ware I used to work, had it done, he experenced a lot of infections, his knees locked up a lot, causing him to fall back wards.
