For Those Who Have Knee Replacement Surgery…..should My Knee Still Be Red 1 Month After Surgery?
It does not hurt and is all healed up but it is still warm to the touch and red.

I had both of my knees replaced last April. The incision should still be red but I think the surrounding area should not. Warm to the touch could be a sign of infection. I think in a situation like this it is best to call your surgeons office and ask them if this is normal at this stage. It might just be post op swelling but I don’t recall mine being red and warm to the touch at one month. Check your temperature before you call the office so they can know if you have a fever. Hope this helps
My children’s father had knee surgery one time and he did have a hot knee, kinda like the only part of his body that would get a fever would be his knee. But ya… being that his skin color is brown he didn’t get the red color that white people get. It eventually went away after 2 or 3 months.
